A CHILDREN'S charity is looking for North-East shops to offer shelf space to raise money.
The Butterwick House Children's Hospice is appealing for shops to sell a series of children's books written by local author Frederick Stehr.
Mr Stehr, who owns Crombies Cafe Bar, in Darlington, has sponsored the publishing costs of 1,000 copies of two Pebble People books.
All profits from the sale of the 1,000 books will be given to the Butterwick Children's Hospice in support of the work done to help children suffering from life limiting illnesses.
The two books, The Pebble People Save the Day, a children's novel, and The Pebble People Make a Garden, a story and colouring book for younger children, are available now from Ottakar's, in Darlington, Butterwick Hospice receptions and the Butterwick Bookshop in Stockton High Street, priced £4.95 and £2 respectively.
The hospice is appealing to anyone else who is willing to stock the books.
To help, call Nicola Fewell on (01642) 624231. Details about the books can also be found at www.pebble-people. co.uk
