A nursery has opened at a village primary school.
The House of Eden, which cares for 144 children at its nursery in Rushyford, has opened at Aycliffe Village Primary School.
The new nursery, which is called The House of Eden - The Rainbow Room, will provide places for about 45 pre-school children in two rooms.
Proprietor John Newbould promoted two staff from the Rushyford centre to run the new site - manager Vicky Hutchinson and deputy manager Karen Craggs.
Headteacher Jo Clarke said: "This isn't just a private enterprise, but something I think will benefit the community, providing childcare for villagers and people in the surrounding areas and making the move to school smoother for those children who become pupils at Aycliffe Village Primary School."
