A SECOND council has endorsed a decision by two development agencies to merge.
Teesdale District Council's corporate strategy committee yesterday backed the merger between Teesdale Enterprise Agency and the Wear Valley Development Company.
Wear Valley District Council agreed to back the merger last month.
The Teesdale Enterprise Agency was set up in 1988. Teesdale council's chief executive, Charles Anderson, said: "The enterprise agency has gone from strength to strength but the same cannot be said for the equivalent organisation."
The new organisation will operate out of both Enterprise House, in Barnard Castle, and Innovation House, in Bishop Auckland.
