THE memories of people evacuated to North Yorkshire during the Second World War are being sought for an exhibition.
Middlesbrough's Dorman Museum and Ryedale Folk Museum at Hutton-le-Hole have been awarded £20,000 by the Home Front Recall scheme to pay for the event.
During the first week in June, more than 100 Middlesbrough schoolchildren will be evacuated 1940s-style to North Yorkshire, while former evacuees are invited to share their memories at Ryedale Folk Museum. For details, contact Dorman Museum on (01642) 813781.
