A WOMAN involved in a three-vehicle car accident on the southbound A19 last week has died.
Lynn Elizabeth Hunter, 48, of Langley Road, North Shields, North Tyneside, suffered severe head injuries following the collision a mile north of Dalton Lodge, in County Durham, last Wednesday.
Mrs Hunter was airlifted to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, but died on Friday. Her husband, Robert, said: "She was a loving mother and grandmother and meant the world to everyone who knew her.
"Her death has come as a terrible shock and it will be some time before we can start to rebuild our lives."
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident, which took place at about 8.30am just past the A179 sliproad, when her silver Daewoo Espero hit traffic lights. A Vauxhall Vectra and a green MGS Rover are believed to have also been involved.
