SMALL objects of desire will be on display at a North-East museum until the end of this month.
Durham University's Oriental Museum is displaying several examples of ancient arts from the East personally selected by the curators to illustrate the theme of Objects Of Desire.
Deputy curator Kevin McLoughlin has chosen a Chinese figure of the Buddha carved from limestone, an 18th Century jade depicting pilgrims paying homage to three gods and a Cinnabar lacquer box from the same period, while curator Craig Barclay has chosen items from two ancient Egyptian cosmetics kits.
The objects are on display to the public, from 10am to 5pm, Mondays to Fridays, and from noon to 5pm at weekends.
Admission is £1.50 for adults and 75p for concessions.
