A COMPANY specialising in alternative fuels has been recognised with a national award.
Autogas 2000, based at Carlton Miniott, near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, was awarded the Lloyds/TSB Autoleas Industry Commitment to Sustainability prize in London.
More than 30 public sector and private companies were shortlisted for the 11 categories of the Environmental and Sustainable Technology (East) awards.
East was established to champion and promote green fuels, including LPG/autogas, electric and hybrid vehicles in the ever-challenging task of establishing markets for viable non-fossil fuels.
The aim is to improve local and national air quality and extend the life of the world's limited supply of fossil fuels.
Autogas 2000 has spent nearly 30 years developing LPG/autogas.
