A Spennymoor boxer will fight on home ground for the first time in his professional career, it was announced this week.
After four years as a professional, Nigel Wright will embark on the first defence of his English light-welterweight title at Spennymoor Leisure Centre.
The 25-year-old will step into the ring against former champion Alan Bosworth, 33, on Friday, May 27.
The occasion, Nigel's 15th bout in the paid ranks, will be extra special as the venue is also where he is employed as a swimming pool attendant.
A capacity crowd is expected for the Wright versus Bosworth showdown, while joining him on the bill will be the Hartlepool duo of British super-bantamweight champion Michael Hunter and light welterweight Alan Temple.
