VISITORS to an art gallery are being urged to be inspired.
Paper, drawing and craft materials are being made available to visitors to Hartlepool Art Gallery from today, kept in a specially-carved wooden trolley.
Claire Munroe, of Hartlepool Council's Arts, Museums and Events Service, said: "We hope visitors to the gallery will use the art materials on the trolley whenever they feel gripped with the urge to create something artistic of their own."
The trolley has been made by a group of teenagers from Hartlepool Young Carers, working alongside artist David Gross.
They have been helped by adults from Hartlepool Integrated Mental Health Day Services.
Ms Munroe said: "Everyone involved in the project has done us proud and created a very unusual and attractive addition to the gallery.
"The Young Carers had to learn many new skills to make the trolley, including carving and shaping the wood and then piecing it all together.''
