YOUNGSTERS put their skipping skills to good use yesterday to raise money for charity.
Pupils at South Otterington Primary School, near Northallerton, took part in a sponsored skip.
The event was part of a national initiative organised by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) to raise money for heart research, education and patient care.
A representative from the BHF gave an assembly at the school recently, during which the children learnt about the importance of keeping fit and looking after their hearts.
Since then, they had been practising their skipping skills in preparation for yesterday's event.
The pupils were sponsored by family and friends to continue skipping within a small group for up to half an hour. They managed a total of two hours of non-stop skipping.
