MORE than 1,400 children have competed in a youth games event.
The sixth annual North Yorkshire Youth Games was held at Ampleforth College, near York, earlier this month.
The event attracted youngsters from all eight districts in North Yorkshire to compete in 12 sports.
David Watson, who helped with the event, said: "The ethos of the games is to make sport and competition fun and accessible to as many people as possible, and this year's event has undoubtedly fulfilled that goal."
