THE owners of two dogs stolen in a house raid have appealed for their safe return.

The daschunds were taken from their kennel in a raid on a property in Heighington at about 6pm on Wednesday.

Thieves also stole several items of machinery, but the house owners have only one concern - the safety of their dogs.

Margaret Jamieson and her husband, Richard, who live with Mrs Jamieson's 83-year-old mother, Ellen, said: "You can replace machinery, but it's the dogs we want back. We're so worried about the both of them.

"We keep other bigger dogs, including a German shepherd and a springer spaniel, but they didn't touch them.

"It's awful having things taken, and it's made my mum really petrified to be here, but we are all concerned for the dogs' safety.

"We're trying not to think the worst, and would ask anyone who has got them, or knows where they are, to give them back to us," she said.

One is an eleven-month-old tan puppy, and the other is a ten-year-old red one.

A compressor, welder and generator were also stolen.
