A family who hit the jackpot with a £1.2m lotto win are praying their luck rubs off on their football team.
Myra Hart, 79, son Bill, 53, daughter Moira Massey, 56, and her husband Jimmy, 55, will celebrate their windfall by travelling to watch their beloved Hartlepool.
The family will combine a spending spree with a trip to the League One play-off final between Hartlepool and Sheffield Wednesday in Cardiff.
Moira, the manager of a local women's refuge said: "We went absolutely ballistic when we discovered we had won.
"Bill rang Jimmy and me late on Wednesday night and woke us up.
"He told us to come round to my mam's house as soon as we could. I was worried, I didn't know what to expect at that time of night.
"As soon as we got there Bill handed me the lottery ticket and a piece of paper he had written the numbers on.
"He said "we have won, look at this."
"I just stared at the piece of paper and then at the ticket - it was like a mirror image.
Sprightly Myra, a retired factory worker, danced a jig when she discovered she had won.
She chose a line of numbers made of birthday and her wedding anniversary.
Life-long Hartlepool fan Bill, a transport supervisor, said: "We are going to watch the play-off final in Cardiff, which we couldn't have done before this win.
"Now we might even hire a private jet to fly down. It is a wonderful feeling to be in this situation, I hope some of our luck rubs off on the team."
Myra intends to spend some of her share on two new sofas and a Mediterranean cruise.
Bill is panning to buy a Lexus car and will splash out on some new equipment for his fishing boat.
Moira said: "The win means the world to us as we can secure everyone's future as well as having a few treats."
