PUPILS from two Darlington schools will be taking part in a poetry reading next week - in a park that inspired their work.
The children from Corporation Road Junior School and Reid Street Primary School will be reciting their poems at the bandstand in North Lodge Park on Wednesday.
The event has been organised by North Lodge Park's writer in residence Maureen Almond, who has been working since last year to capture the public's thoughts and feelings about the area.
She said: "The children had done such lovely work I thought it would be good for them to perform it in the park."
The event starts at 11am for about an hour.
