THE focus on anti-social behaviour in this country has never been sharper. Millions of pounds are spent in analysing the problem and working out ways to tackle it.

So let's consider today's FA Cup Final. It is English football's showcase event - a celebration of skill, featuring some of the world's leading role models for young people.

The odds being laid by bookmakers are very revealing. Punters, as usual, can have a bet on the correct score or the first scorer.

But there is a special bet on how many times Wayne Rooney will swear during the match, or on which player will be the first to get booked and sent-off. Manchester United captain Roy Keane is 5-2 favourite with his arch rival, Arsenal skipper Patrick Vieira, 11-4.

The animosity between the two clubs is well documented and has been exacerbated by the irresponsibility of the managers constantly winding up each other, their players and the supporters.

The game, in the national tabloids, has been frequently branded "a war" which is an insult to anyone who has ever fought in one.

And then we wonder why some young people behave badly.
