ONE of the country's top DJs is the headline act at a launch party in Darlington tonight.
Galaxy Radio's Paul Kershaw is spearheading the launch of a trilogy of music events at the town's Club 2K nightclub.
The DJ, who has a prime time radio slot on Saturday nights, has previously performed at Good Grief, Gatecrasher and other top clubs around the country.
On his under-card this evening will be DJ Snowy, the winner of Galaxy's Solid State competition.
Live bands will perform in the basement of the club from 7pm until 10pm.
This will be followed by Dirty Love - a mixture of tracks from 1960s rock to grunge, indie, punk, metal and ska.
The final music room will feature Mr Fox spinning deep, soulful house sounds for the Soulbasics launch.
Other attractions include professional dancers, who base their moves on an ancient tribal Maori dance, which originated as a fighting art to ward off enemies.
The bands performing tonight are The Mutiny, Torment and South Street.
Darlington band The Mutiny is a punk three-piece with two female guitarists. South Street, from Gateshead, fall into an indie category. Death metal rockers Torment also hail from Darlington.
