MORE than 50 walkers will be striding out to boost funds for research into diabetes.
The group from the Bishop Auckland branch of Diabetes UK walk around Hardwick Hall Country Park, Sedgefield, between 10.30am and 2.30pm on Sunday, June 12.
The event is one of 65 taking place throughout the country as an attempt by the charity to raise more than £200,000 for vital research.
The "Walks in the Parks" have raised more than £700,000 since 1999.
Joyce Short, who has organised the Hardwick Hall walk, said: "I am pleased that so many people are turning out to support our walk. Diabetes is serious, but exercise and diet are good to help control."
Anyone wishing to take part or make a donation can call Mrs Short on (01325) 312765.
