A MEETING to decide the fate of Richmond's car parks and council office buildings could go ahead on June 1.
But public attendance could be limited after two previous meetings were called off when 800 people turned up.
Richmondshire District Council is now looking at Richmond Town Hall as a possible venue for the resources committee meeting and approaches have been made to the town council.
But Stuart Parsons, a town and county councillor, fears only 80 members of the public would be allowed in.
He hopes a video and sound link could be made to the neighbouring market hall where up to 300 people could listen.
However, he stressed it is important that the meeting goes ahead.
A spokeswoman for the district council confirmed that an approach had been made to the town council about using the hall on June 1, but said no date or venue had been fixed.
Sales of two car parks and the authority's office buildings in Richmond would help fund the council's proposed move to £4m headquarters in Colburn.
Protestors say the plans would damage trade and tourism by removing parking.
