NEARLY a quarter-of-a-century of glass-making is being marked in an exhibition which opened at the weekend.
Tim and Maureen Simon, of Uredale Glass, have been making free-blown glass in Masham since 1981. They are staging an exhibition, called "Synthesis - a medley of glass-making tech-niques", at their studio behind the King's Head Hotel until June 2.
The work is the result of glass-making techniques building different layers, using a combination of methods.
Mrs Simon said: "This is the first time we have launched an exhibition for the display of synthesis glass, although the process of perfecting the technique has taken many years.
"Because of our love of the material and colour, our aim is to make the most of the material, the result of which will be the most collectible glass."
