CHILDREN from a Stanley school worked with leading artist Sarah Evans to produce a sculpture made from natural materials found in their playground.
Youngsters enjoyed the environmental art workshop as part of a prize, which the school was given for winning the Persil Hands on Art awards.
East Stanley School was one of nine to win the national art award. Pupils and their art teacher, Sue Blackett, were encouraged to explore the school grounds to discover natural materials that could be used to create sculptures and drawings.
The pieces will be displayed in the school. Mrs Blackett said: "It has been a wonderful opportunity to get the children to think about how nature and the great outdoors can inspire their creative work."
