PLANS for an £844,000 overhaul of a market hall will be considered by a council committee next week.
A list of desired improvements to the hall, in Scarborough, has been drawn up by officers at Scarborough Borough Council.
These include improving stalls signage and ambient temperature, increasing marketing activity and opening times, and tidying it up.
In a report to the public health, housing, land and property committee, officers estimate that to achieve all the suggested improvements would cost about £844,000.
Options for funding have been investigated, but said it appeared that there is none available from outside sources at the present time.
The committee will be asked to note the report before referring it to the cabinet for a decision on whether the money can be allocated from council funds.
If the cabinet were to agree to the investment, the work would be carried out over five years.
