NOMINATIONS are being sought for the annual North-East Export Awards, which recognise the success of businesses from the region.
Last year, the North-East maintained its position as one of the country's top exporting regions, with more than £10bn-worth of goods and services exported overseas.
The North-East Export Awards will recognise the efforts of the workers who helped their companies reach new heights in the export market and who have contributed to the region's ongoing success.
Launched more than ten years ago, the awards are sponsored by UK Trade and Investment, the North East Chamber of Commerce and Lloyds TSB.
The awards will be presented at the North-East Exporters Dinner, at Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham, on Thursday, July 14, to those who have achieved the most for their companies in exports. Applicants may apply for more than one award. Each winners will receive a trophy and £500.
John Williams, UK Trade and Investment's international trade director, said: "These awards offer the ideal opportunity to recognise the outstanding efforts of the many unsung heroes involved in export in the North-East and to celebrate their achievements.
"While these awards highlight North-East companies' export achievements, they are unique in that they are presented to individuals in recognition of their contribution to success in international markets."
The deadline for nominations is May 31. For details, call 0191-375 3345.
