Volunteers are needed to ensure that a century-old village carnival can still have a bright future.
More help is needed at the event on Saturday, June 4, at Mickleton, near Barnard Castle.
One of the organisers, Jane Atkinson, said: "We are desperate to drum up more support before the big day. We need people who can spare an hour or two to set up the field, make teas and man the stalls.
"It is always a wonderful event, but we need more help, and donations of some goods to put on the stalls, to make sure it survives for years to come."
Anyone willing to help can call Ms Atkinson on 07753-468765. To donate items for the cake stall or other stalls, call Ghita on (01833) 641022, or Doris on (01833) 640854.
The carnival has a nautical theme with fancy dress judging taking place in the village hall car park, followed by a procession around fields. Attractions include Punch and Judy, a magic show, a flyball display and sports.
