Councillors have rejected plans for six homes in Ripon city centre only 13ft from a pub's beer garden.
Members of an area planning committee of Harrogate Borough Council agreed with planning officer Linda Drake, who said that the scheme would be an over-development of the site and, because it was so close to the pub's beer garden, an unsatisfactory level of residential amenity .
The project, proposed by Lee Hill Construction Limited, was for six terrace houses off 4 Old Market Place, Ripon.
