A MOTHER has told of her relief after her son, who went missing two weeks ago, was found.
Concern had been mounting for Michael Swift, 30, after he went missing from the University Hospital of Hartlepool on May 13.
But after he read an appeal by his distraught mother, Mary, he contacted police to say he was fine.
Officers found him in Wingate, County Durham, and took him back to hospital for treatment.
Ms Swift, of Stirling Street, Hartlepool, said: "I am so glad he has been found. I am over the moon that I know he's safe."
Mr Swift, a former worker at the Hibernia Foods factory, was admitted to the hospital three weeks before he went missing after police found him half-dressed near Hartlepool Power Station.
A police spokeswoman said: "Fortunately, Michael was found and he was safe and well."
