A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after suffering a serious pelvic injury in car crash on Teesside.
The 40-year-old woman's grey Nissan Micra collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra in Mitchell Avenue, Thornaby, at its junction with Chadderton Drive at about 5.30pm on Wednesday.
Fire crews from Thornaby station attended and had to cut the local woman free from the wreckage before she was taken to the James Cook University Hospital by air ambulance.
The 56-year-old Astra driver was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees with neck strain and bruising, but was later released.
A Cleveland Police spokesman said: "The Nissan was travelling along Chadderton Drive towards Mitchell Avenue, but failed to stop at the junction and collided with the Astra."
