WILDLIFE lovers in Darlington will be given the chance to support a charity while unwinding at the pub.
Stuart Mann, the landlord of The Tawny Owl, in Neasham Road, has organised a number of events to mark National Wildlife Week, which begins on June 12.
The pub has joined forces with the National Wildlife Trust to recruit members, enlist volunteers and educate people on ways of introducing more wildlife into their own gardens.
The Tawny Owl has previously supported the Northumberland Wildlife Trust and Mr Mann believes the week will create great interest.
He said: "The picturesque surroundings of the inn means guests come here to unwind and wildlife can play a very important part in that.
"We have produced some fact sheets with tips for guests on how to get more wildlife into their gardens and have purchased some seeds to give away to customers."
The Tawny Owl will also have a membership recruitment point for the Northumberland Wildlife Trust and distribute information to encourage people to visit wildlife havens in the area.
