STUDENTS at a Derwentside school are celebrating after a successful football season.
Youngsters from Catchgate Primary School in Catchgate, near Stanley, have won three trophies after competing with other schools in seven-a-side games across the district.
The under-11 boys team won the Jack Dodds Memorial Trophy and the under-11 girls won the Derwentside Girls Annual Trophy.
The boys also won the Dickman Development Challenge Cup.
Headteacher Ken Joel said: "It is all about getting kids into sport and they really are quite talented.
"It will be interesting to see how many of them become professional, because some of them have got the skill.
"I feel very proud of them because they have worked hard and play well together.
"Team work is something we encourage."
