A SCHOOL has been handing out silverware to a new breed of football managers hoping to become the next Jose Mourinho or Rafa Benitez.
Parkside School, in Willington, has been running a Fantasy Football League for pupils and staff.
The competitors selected an all-star team from Premiership players and gained points depending on how well their chosen players performed.
Year seven student Alexander Nesbitt was the school's top manager and was presented with a trophy and medal.
Runner-up Michael Winter and Darren Newton, third, also received awards.
"Each school year group had a separate league and then these leagues all merged together to form a whole school league," said a school spokeswoman.
"The top twenty managers in the school league represented the school in a regional and national league."
Year group champions were: year six Willington Primary School, year seven Alexander Nesbitt, year eight Michael Winter, year nine Andrew Dobbin, year ten Darren Newton, year 11 Craig Buddin, staff Mr Mallaby, FA Cup League Champion Matthew Taylor.
