POLICE have re-issued their appeal for information about a robber who injured a disabled woman after knocking her to the ground.
The 58-year-old woman was in Cobden Street, Thornaby, when a man in a stolen white Ford Fiesta drove by and snatched her handbag.
The woman fell to the ground and suffered a fractured pelvis and cuts and bruises. She had to be taken to North Tees Hospital for treatment.
Detectives said the car had been stolen from Teesside University, in Middlesbrough, before being driven through Thornaby where the woman was robbed at about 9.15pm on Monday of last week.
After the robbery, the car was found abandoned in Preen Drive, Acklam, Middlesbrough. The handbag was left in the car, but a small amount of cash had been taken.
Anyone with information about the robbery, or the people who took the car, which has the registration number G728 KJX, is asked to call Detective Constable Dave Clough on (01642) 302226.
