DR NAZAR IMAM, an anaesthetist at North Tees University Hospital, has taken up the newly-created post of vice-chairman at Thornaby-based language charity Everyday Language Solutions.
The Pakistan-born doctor was educated in Ghana where he graduated in 1979, and before coming to Britain in 1990 he worked in Nigeria.
He was already a trustee at ELS, a not-for-profit business with a host of interpreters and translators on its books.
