TWO MEN attempted to snatch a woman's handbag on Bank Holiday Monday.
The 43-year-old was walking home from Crook town centre at about 1am and was texting on her mobile phone when a man pushed past her and caused her to drop her phone.
A second man snatched her handbag, but the strap snapped and the woman was able to grab it, at which point the men ran off.
The first man is described as between 15 and 25 years old, about 5ft 1ins tall, of small build and with closely-cropped brown or fair hair. He was wearing a black jumper, jeans and dark trainers.
The second man is 6ft tall, of stocky build and was wearing a hooded top and dark trousers.
