DURHAM will be hoping for some favourable decisions from Trevor Jesty and Alan Whitehead when play gets under way on the second day of their match at Worcester.
Although the rain stopped shortly afterwards, the umpires abandoned any hope of play on the first day at 3pm following four hours of rain yesterday.
The forecast is better for today and Durham will console themselves with the thought that they have already beaten Worcestershire in two days this season.
Jesty is not one of Durham's favourite umpires, but things are unlikely to get any worse than Sunday's performance by Roy Palmer in the 43-run totesport League defeat at The Oval.
Ashley Noffke felt he had two very good lbw shouts turned down by Palmer, who then proceeded to give out five Durham batsmen, four lbw and one stumped.
The decision which saw Paul Collingwood depart second ball looked fair, but there were question marks against all the others.
