PEOPLE who like the outdoors and nature are being invited to mark World Environment Day by visiting a new wildlife haven.
Spion Kop Cemetery, on the Central Estate in Hartlepool, will be the location for a walk-about on Sunday, between 11am and 12.30pm.
It will give people a chance to join members of the Hartlepool Natural History Society to learn about the site's wealth of wildflowers and history.
The cemetery, which dates back to the 1800s, is a dune grassland habitat and home to more than 100 different species of plants and wildlife, such as skylarks and common blue butterflies.
Sunday's event is free.
