East Stanley WI: Members were welcomed by our president Anne Stayman.
Jenny Keeler was thanked for the flowers which were sent to Hilda Burnett. Birthday greetings were given to Elsie Marshall.
After secretary Audrey Wallace dealt with the business, executive member Anne Stayman gave a report on the spring council meeting and then went on to discuss the resolutions for the National Conference, on which our members voted. Jean Black gave the theme A Happy Memory.
Everyone enjoyed the birthday dinner at the Bluebell Kip Hill and are looking forward to the trip to Harrogate and Knaresborough.
The competition, a souvenir tea towel, was won by Anne Stayman, with Lily Middleton second, the raffle was won by Mary Mosse.
The meeting ended with a bric-a-brac stall, manned by committee members Hazel Rainbow and Betty Drake.
Next meeting June 13 will be the annual general meeting.
Tantobie WI: Mrs Smith welcomed members, Mrs Wallace read a golden thread.
Future events were discussed and a vote was taken on the resolutions after discussion. The results will be sent to the Annfield Plain representative who will be attending the Albert Hall meeting later this month.
Mrs Coleman gave a talk about the dolls houses she has made and showed some beautiful work she has done to furnish them. Members were amazed by the work. Mrs Wallace gave the vote of thanks. Tea was provided by Mrs Bainbridge and Mrs Gott. Mrs Cawthorne and Mrs Stacey won the raffle. The competition was won by Mrs Wallace, Mrs Smith and Mrs Morgan. The next meeting is on June 20.
