AN open day is being held next week to give advice and support to visually-impaired people in Darlington.
The Vane House Resource Centre is run by Darlington Borough Council's social services department.
It has a range of services for blind and partially-sighted people, including specialist computers, a training kitchen and various pieces of equipment, which have been designed to make everyday life easier. The centre, in the grounds of the Arts Centre, in Vane Terrace, Darlington, is hosting an open day on Tuesday, from 10am to 4pm.
The Action for Blind People charity will also have a mobile advice service at the centre to offer information on the latest aids, equipment and local services which are available.
For more information about the event, telephone (01325) 388131.
