EAST Durham pensioners are being urged to claim benefits which are rightfully theirs.
Over the past 18 months, Easington District Council's benefits section has been working with its partners to secure more cash for people over 60 who are missing out on vital payments.
Pensioners living in the Peterlee area have already been given the chance to talk to specialised staff from Easington council, Durham County Council and the Pensions Service, who have passed on advice on all aspects of welfare benefits.
