OUTSTANDING entries for the Coloured Horse and Pony Society Yorkshire region's excellent show at Northern Equestrian, Richmond kept secretary Amanda Walker and her team very busy.
The judges for the Horse of the Year Show qualifiers were Linda Miller and Alan French, who rode every horse in the classes.
Paul Langrick from Easingwold took the non-native exceeding 153cm class with Victoria Heaton's ten-year-old piebald gelding Mr Nutmeg, by the Queen's stallion Oberon out of Honey Dee.
Paul was also runner-up in the native section on the nine-year-old gelding Aghaboenand and second in the novice ridden with Lady of the Dawn.
Clare Merrigan-Martin and her husband Glen, from Barnard Castle, had a double win and took the overall supreme championship showing the three-year-old Brookham Heaven Sent, by Hollyland Heaven Can Wait out of Chillerton Poesie.
They also won the piebald and skewbald championship the previous week at Hambleton Riding Club show.
Glen had a good win with his home-bred yearling Merrigans Heaven Sent, out of Merrigans Gemma.
The reserve supreme went to Scottish rider Zoe Etherington on Frank Slattery's double ridden and in-hand champion Mr Moses.
Vicky Stevenson, from Redcar, scored a double win in the in-hand section showing Stephanie Towers' two-year old Tidkin Mr Harlequin, by Harroway Mr Harlequin, while Keith and Lynn Hutchings from Durham scored a double and were reserve in-hand champions with the nine-year-old coloured Shetland stallion Butterby Express.
This combination were supreme champions at the Yorkshire Regional Shetland Show.
Craig Chadwick, based at Micky Hammond's Middleham stable and a former Olympia Shetland Grand National champion, showed for Karen Nixon, from Brompton on Swale.
He was third in his in-hand section showing the four-year-old CHAPS-graded stallion Unique SQS, while Karen's nephew Jake collected a second and a third with Boltwood Kent Black Patches.
Stephanie Towers collected the Deards Style and Performance Pony qualifier with Topaz Bay, while Peter Dodsworth had a second with his two-year-old Newski Isadora, by Newski Inn.
