A LIVING memorial to two Scout leaders who died from cancer is to be unveiled later this month.
Heighington Baden Powell Scouts want to contact former Scouts who remember Andrew Muckley and Natasha Wilson, who were both leaders of the group and who both died of cancer last year.
The Heighington Scout group has created a small copse and conservation site as a living memorial to the two Scouters in a corner of Heighington village sports field.
The group will hold an open day, including a car boot sale and strawberry fair at the sports field on Sunday, June 12, between 3pm and 6pm, to show the memorial.
The group is inviting all Scouts who remember Mr Muckle and Ms Wilson to share their memories.
There will be a short service of dedication followed by tree planting by the Mayoress of Darlington, Stella Robson.
Mr Muckley was associated with the Heighington Scout group for 30 years.
