A TEESSIDE man has been decorated for long and good service with the Army.
A paint sprayer before enlisting, Shaun Flynn, from Linthorpe, Middlesbrough, is a Colour Sergeant with The 1st Battalion, Green Howards.
Currently Company Quartermaster Sergeant for C Company, the 39-year-old has served and trained with the 1st Battalion in Northern Ireland, Germany, Kenya, Canada, France and Belize.
He was presented with a long service and good conduct medal by Brigadier Lamont Kirkland, CBE, a former Commanding Officer of the Battalion.
From next month, the 1st Battalion will be on standby to be sent on operations anywhere in the world. Next March, it begins a six-month tour of duty in Bosnia.
