A MAN left empty-handed after walking out of a supermarket with a trolley-full of goods which had not been paid for.
The incident happened at the Asda supermarket in Peterlee, at approximately 4pm on Monday, February 7.
The man, about 6ft 1in, is alleged to have placed several items in the trolley and then proceeded past the check-outs.
Howver, he was challenged by a security guard and then ran off towards the town centre.
The man is described as being of medium build and, at the time of the incident, was wearing a blue fleece.
