GOLFERS went a fair way towards raising thousands of pounds for charity yesterday, in a tournament hosted by the Mayor of Darlington.
Civic leader Stella Robson welcomed dozens of golfers to the annual event at Stressholme Golf Club.
They included a team led by Darlington Football Club midfielder Neil Maddison.
The competition was raising money for Darlington Music Festival, Family Help Refuge and Darlington Association on Disability.
Councillor Robson said: "I am thrilled that so many people have turned out for this event and delighted that we will be raising so much."
The winners were Haydon and Lamb, of Aycliffe.
