CENTRAL Parking System (CPS) has won a five-year contract to manage the multi-storey car parks at a North-East shopping centre.
The firm, which is one of the UK's leading off-street parking management specialists, aims to improve parking at Sunderland's The Bridges. Its two car parks have 941 spaces.
Ten existing staff will transfer to CPS under the deal, which is the third it has won for Land Securities, owners of the The Bridges and Newcastle's The Gate leisure complex, as well as the Bon Accord centre in Aberdeen.
Phil Steele, manager at The Bridges, said: "The safety and security of our car parks is paramount and we are pleased to have secured a long-term deal with one of the UK's most innovative providers."
Hellen Bowey, contract manager for CPS at The Gate and The Bridges, said: "Our ethos with any contract is to integrate our services and staff to become part of the client's overall operation.
"After all the car park is where the shopping experience begins and ends."
