BIKERS have been praised for their behaviour at the weekend's British Superbike meeting.
About 30,000 people flocked to the two-day event at the Croft race track, near Darlington.
Police from four forces saturated roads around the circuit in a move to ensure safety.
Officers said there were no serious accidents and few incidents of irresponsible riding.
A handful of minor offences, such as illegal number plates, were reported.
A police spokesman described the atmosphere as "overwhelmingly good humoured and positive", adding that traffic flowed in and out of the site easily.
Inspector Chris Charlton, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "We want to thank motorcyclists who came to Croft for their responsible attitude. They showed that you can combine having a great time with riding safely and with showing respect for your fellow road users."
Police were called to a fight at the circuit early on Sunday morning. About 30 people were involved and a large crowd gathered to watch, but police said there were no arrests and there was only one minor injury.
