AN injury crisis could ensure Darlington midfielder Adrian Webster makes his international bow for New Zealand on Thursday.
Initially, the 24-year-old was one of several untried players invited to train with the All Whites squad ahead of this week's friendly with Australia at Fulham's Craven Cottage.
But, after Oldham's Chris Killeen became the fifth player to pull out of the New Zealand squad through injury, Webster is almost certain to feature against an Australia side, which will include Middlesbrough duo Mark Schwarzer and Mark Viduka.
If Webster, who recently agreed a new one-year deal at the Williamson Motors Stadium, does earn his first cap, the midfielder will be the first Quakers full international since former defender Jason De Vos represented Canada against Macedonia in 1998.
Meanwhile, Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe insists the relegated Premiership club are not interested in Quakers winger Jason St Juste. Despite claims from the player's agent, Ian Flanagan, that the Saints are one of several club's interested in the 19-year-old, Lowe said: "I don't know where these stories come from but there is no truth in any of them."
After returning from a short family break, Quakers boss David Hodgson will resume his search for new talent this week. Hodgson is keen to follow up the signing of released Shrewsbury winger Sam Aiston with five more additions to his squad. With no back-up for Sam Russell, Hodgson is keen to add a goalkeeper to his ranks, along with a defender, midfielder and two strikers.
