YOUNG dancers are celebrating competition success after qualifying for a national championship.
Thirty-seven dancers from Diane White's Academy of Dance, in Shildon, have qualified for the International Dance Teachers Association National finals in October.
The group, which range from three-years-old to 50 plus, brought home trophies and medals after competing in the Tyne Tees regional competition recently ensuring them a place in the national finals.
Eleven out of the group finished the competition as finalists.
Diane White said: "I am really proud of all the kids and I'd like to say a big thank you to all the people who acted as dance partners on the day. They did us proud."
