A MAN was last night charged with the murder of a married father-of-three after an alleged attack at a city centre bar.
Hassan El-Khuweldi, 46, of Waterloo Street, Newcastle, was remanded in custody and will appear before magistrates in the city today accused of killing Steven Doyle.
Mr Doyle, 37, a businessman from Blyth, Northumberland, was found near the entrance to the Quilted Camel bar, in Sandhill, Newcastle, at 10pm on May 14. He died on Saturday with his family at his bedside. In a statement they said: "We are trying to come to terms with the loss of Steven, who was a loving family man. This was the first night he had been out socialising since Christmas and he had been looking forward to catching up with his friends."
Two other men arrested in connection with Mr Doyle's death have been bailed pending further inquiries.
