STAFF and pupils at a church-led nursery are celebrating a double success.
The CLC Pre-school, in Woodham, Newton Aycliffe, has received a glowing report from education watchdog Ofsted.
The pre-school, part of the Christian Life Centre, opened in 1994 but only recently joined the Ofsted scheme.
Inspectors found that the pre-school provides good care for children, is warm and welcoming and provides a rich and stimulating environment.
Staff are positive role models, encourage youngsters to respect cultural diversity, help them build confidence and to learn right from wrong, the report said.
The centre, which cares for 20 children, has also been praised by an assessor for the Investors in Children award scheme.
Manager Kerina Clark has not received notification that the pre-school will gain the award, but she says feedback is all positive and shows that her team are offering youngsters a good start in life.
She said: "The Ofsted and Investors in Children assessor's positive reports are wonderful. They give reassurance to parents that we are doing the right thing and it is a boost for staff."
