A fancy dress competition was one of the highlights of a fun day in Sedgefield as part of the town's recent VE celebrations.
The event took place in the grounds of Ceddesfeld Hall, organised by the council in association with Sedgefield Round Table and Sedgefield Community Association. Included in the attractions were a bouncy castle, giant slides, fairground rides, face painting and Mr Merlin children's entertainer.
Fancy dress judges were Deputy Mayor Coun Dudley Waters and Deputy Mayoress Pat Buckley-Atkins. Rebecca Stuart, aged 2, won dressed as a nurse, while five-year-old pirate Jack Lisle came a close second. Other winners included Jackson Smith (power ranger), Jake and Harry Langley as Mr Incredibles; Matthew Walker (tiger), Lucy Lisle (fairy), and Beth Lindsay (Darth Vader).
