BUSINESSES in the region are being asked to take part in a charity golf competition to help sick and underprivileged children.
Radio station 96.6tfm is staging the event next month and is looking for companies and organisations to enter teams.
Money raised from the tournament, at Wynyard Golf Club, near Hartlepool, will go to the station's charity, Make a Child Smile.
Those already enlisted include former England and Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson, World Cup winner and ex-Middlesbrough and Newcastle manager Jack Charlton, former Middlesbrough and current Darlington star Craig Hignett, TV sports presenter Roger Tames and Midsomer Murders actor Daniel Casey.
Teams of three are needed and they will be joined by one of the celebrities for an 18-hole Texas scramble tournament, which starts at 1pm on Thursday, July 14.
It costs £400 per team, and more information is available from Heather Bundzenieks on (01642) 732550.
Make a Child Smile raised £300,000 last year and has helped thousands of youngsters by buying vital medical equipment, computers, and providing outward-bound holidays for disabled children.
